Flood relief scheme
This project was to excavate over 700 tons along the side of the A40 at Hanger lane gyratory in west London to create a flood relief area to solve a flooding problem for the neighbouring allotments and also to create a wetland nature area, the area was excavated and the spoil transported across fields to the boundary line of the allotments and then tipped and mounded to create a natural barrier, we carried out this project in winter but although it was cold and the ground was frozen we still managed to complete in four days as agreed with the client
A frosty  start on day two
One 13 ton excavator and two 9 ton dumpers
Tipping spoil along the boundary and being mounded by our 3 ton excavator
We have been informed by our client that the scheme was a success and the flooding is no longer a problem and the wetland area is now a haven for wildlife
